About Pack 12

Paddling team works together.

Pack 12 is a Cub Scout pack based in Tomball, Texas, chartered by Lakewood Methodist Church. We’re the closest pack for families at Canyon Pointe Elementary, Wildwood Elementary, and West Elementary in Tomball ISD, and we welcome scouts from homeschools, private schools, and any other schools in the area.

Our Mission

We’re here to help kids become curious, capable, kind people who know how to work as a team and take care of the world around them. We do that the way scouting has done it for over a century: by spending time outside, working on real skills, and giving kids meaningful responsibilities at every age.

Our Values

Everything we do is grounded in the Scout Oath and Scout Law. The Cub Scout motto is “Do Your Best” — a reminder that scouting isn’t about being the best, it’s about giving your honest effort.

Scout Oath On my honor, I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.

Scout Law A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.

Our Charter Organization

Pack 12 is chartered by Lakewood Methodist Church, which means the church sponsors and supports our pack. The church provides the pack with a meeting location, storage capabilities, and various resources. We’re grateful for their long partnership. The pack is open to families of any faith background or none — chartering organizations across scouting include churches, civic groups, schools, and more, and they don’t dictate the membership.

Where We Meet

Pack meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 6:30 PM in the Scout Hut on the Lakewood Methodist Church property. Den meeting locations are set by individual den leaders and may vary. Specific dates, times, and locations live on our calendar.

Our Council and District

Pack 12 is part of the Orion District within the Sam Houston Area Council, the local arm of Scouting America. The council and district provide training, camp facilities, and large-scale events that bring together multiple packs and troops.

Why Families Pick Pack 12

  • Family-friendly. Parents and siblings are part of the program, not spectators on the sidelines.
  • Outdoor focus. We get our scouts outside as much as we can — campouts, hikes, service projects, and exploring the Texas outdoors.
  • Trained leaders. Every adult leader completes Scouting America’s Youth Protection Training before working with scouts.
  • Affordable. Annual fees are modest, and our popcorn fundraiser helps offset costs for the whole pack. No scout is ever turned away for financial reasons.

How We Communicate

We use email and group text for day-to-day pack communication. New families get added to both once registered. Big-picture info — schedules, rules, traditions — lives on this website, so you always have a place to look.

Get Involved

Pack 12 only works because parents show up. If your family is registered with us, there’s a place for you on the team — whether that’s leading a den, helping at one event a year, or anything in between. Talk to the Cubmaster, about where you’d like to plug in.
