These terms cover text messages sent by Cub Scout Pack 12 of Tomball, Texas (“Pack 12”, “we”, “us”) to phone numbers that have opted in through pack12tx.org or in person at a pack meeting or recruiting event.
Program name
Pack 12 Tomball — Recruitment & Family Messages.
Program description
A volunteer-run messaging program for prospective and current Pack 12 families. We use it to:
- Follow up with families who submitted the “I’m interested” form at pack12tx.org/interested/ about visiting a meeting and joining the pack.
- Send occasional reminders about pack meetings, signature events (Pinewood Derby, Blue & Gold, campouts), and registration deadlines to current pack families.
- Answer one-off questions from parents who text our number.
We do not send marketing messages from third parties, and we do not share your number with anyone outside the pack’s volunteer leadership and the operational vendors listed in our Privacy Policy (Twilio for message delivery; Render for hosting).
How to opt in
You can opt in by:
- Submitting the form at pack12tx.org/interested/ with your phone number. The form clearly states that submitting it authorizes Pack 12 to text you.
- Telling a Pack 12 leader in person at a meeting or recruiting event that you’d like to receive texts.
Message frequency
Message frequency varies by your relationship to the pack:
- Prospective families who submit the interested form: typically 1–4 messages over a few weeks while we follow up about joining.
- Current pack families: a few messages a month, more in the weeks before signature events.
Fees
Message and data rates may apply. Pack 12 does not charge you to receive messages, but your mobile carrier may, depending on your plan. Check with your carrier if you’re unsure.
Help
For help, reply HELP to any message from us, email info@pack12tx.org, or call/text the pack phone number listed on your last message from us. We’re volunteers — please allow a day or two for a response.
Opt out
You can opt out at any time. Reply STOP to any message from us and we will stop texting that number. You can also reply END, QUIT, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, or STOPALL — any of those will end the messages. After you opt out, you’ll receive a one-time confirmation that the opt-out has been processed.
To resume messages after opting out, submit a new form at pack12tx.org/interested/ or ask a pack leader to add your number back.
Supported carriers
We support all major U.S. carriers (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and their resellers). Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Privacy
How we collect, store, and protect the personal information you share with us is described in our Privacy Policy. Information you share with Pack 12 by text message is treated the same way as information shared through any other channel: we use it to follow up with you about the pack and we do not sell it.
Changes
If we make material changes to these terms, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above and post a notice on this page.
